Music Ministry

The Music Ministry offers both Traditional Choir and a Praise Team for contemporary worship. Please contact Michael Lester, Minister for Music and the Arts, to see how you may become involved at MLester@peacegahanna.org or at 614-337-1000 ext. 26.

Music Ministry

The Traditional Choir rehearses each Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30pm in the main sanctuary -- September through May. (These rehearsal times are modified slightly during Advent and Lenten seasons.) Interested in Bells? Let us know!

Upcoming in Music Ministry:

For Reformation Sunday, October 30, the music ministry will feature U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” arr. By Deke Sharon. This arrangement was featured in the NBC TV series, The Sing-Off.

November 6, will be our All Saints Sunday service, a special service where we remember all of our loved ones who have gone before us. This is a very powerful and meaningful experience. Some of the works/artists featured are:

Michael Lester playing Franz Liszt’s Weinen, Klagen, Sorgen, Zagen.

Cellist, Joseph Mueller and flutist, Angela Mueller will be featured. Tenor Jon Jergens and Messo-Soprano, Jaime Hartzell will sing “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”

Peace Choir will sing such works as "O Vos Omnes" by Pablo Casals, "It is Well", arranged by Mark Hayes and "Soon I will be Done", arranged by Raymond Wise.

Friendship Ministry

Friendship Ministry is an outreach program to adults who are disabled. Two evenings a month and one Saturday a month volunteers create a worship time, enjoy arts and crafts, song, and share a meal with those who are disabled. This ministry is important in the lives of those it serves. Below is a breakdown of some of the ways you can get involved. For more information you may contact info@peacegahanna.org.

Friendship Bible Study:

On the first and third Thursday evenings of the month during the program year, persons from Peace get together with adults with cognitive disabilities for Bible learning, music, art, prayer and friendship.

When: First and Third Thursday evenings, September-May, 6:30-7:30 pm [beginning September 22, 2011]

Friendship Respite Ministry:

On the 1st Saturday of each month, from October through May, Peace offers a “day camp” respite ministry for persons age 14 and above with cognitive disabilities. Join us for Bible study, art, recreation, music, worship, food, friendship and plenty of smiles.

When: 1st Saturday of each month, October-May, 9:00-3:00 pm

Camp Friendship Connections:

Get away for a week at camp! During the 2nd full week in July, 25 adult campers with cognitive disabilities spend four days together participating in Bible learning, art, swimming, bowling, hiking, dancing, talent shows, and more.
