A mission trip in a nutshell:

Transportation to the sites outside Ohio is by charter bus usually leaving in the early morning. Transportation to sites in Ohio is usually by 12 passenger vans. Transportation at the sites is usually in 7 or 12 passenger vans. For trips lasting several hours, students will need money to purchase meals on the road. Once we reach the host site (usually a church or school), meals are provided.

A team building activity is often part of the first or second day of the trip so that the teams that are created - usually 5 students and 2 adults can begin to see how they can work together. High School trips include 4 work days and one "free day"; 7th/8th grade trips include 3 work days and one "free day"; 6th grade trips include 2 work days and one "free day".

The work can include painting, landscaping, minor construction, sorting/organizing clothing, sorting/organizing food, etc. Teams are usually at the work sites five to six hours. The free day (depending on what is available in the area) could be an amusement park, a water park, a walking sight-seeing tour, a guided tour, a water tour, or just relaxing at a beach.

Evening activities include things like paddle boat rides, putt putt golf, basketball tournament, corn hole tournaments, trips to area attractions such as Niagara Falls, scavenger hunts, team activities, etc. Each evening concludes with a large group gathering with songs, a review of the day, a message from Janie, a snack and then a small group Bible Study. On the final evening of the trip, a worship service to brings the events of the week to a close.
