IMPORTANT NEWS FOR MEMBERS
Members of Peace –
The Vision Board is asking you to vote on a new constitution. The new constitution will satisfy some legal requirements where our current constitution is now out of compliance, but this will not affect the day-to-day business of Peace or how we seek to express our congregational vision and mission through ministry. The new constitution and associated policy documents will document how we currently operate at Peace.
The Vision Board was made aware of the fact that the current Peace Lutheran Church constitution is not in compliance with the requirements of the ELCA nor the Ohio Revised Code governing non-profit organizations. Not complying risks the non-profit status of the congregation. READ MORE...

Each week we will be sharing ways to Grow. Serve. Give. at Peace and in our community.
Here are some opportunities this week:
Grow. The Vision Board was informed that the current Peace Lutheran Church constitution is not in compliance with the requirements of the ELCA or the Ohio Revised Code governing nonprofit organizations. Failure to comply risks the non-profit status of the congregation. An informational meeting (and a quorum vote on changes to the Constitution) will take place immediately following both worship services NEXT SUNDAY, June 22nd. Active/Confirmed Members are invited to ask questions at those meetings and stay for the vote. Then on Sunday, June 29, we will vote to ratify the new constitution during our morning worship service times. (An online voting option will also be available, on both Sundays.)
Serve. Camp Friendship is looking for volunteers the week of July 7-11th. Camp Friendship is an annual five day residential camp for adults with disabilities held here at Peace. Volunteers, ages 14 and up, are needed in many capacities, and are not required to commit to the entire week; any help is appreciated. Please look below for a full list of opportunities and to register.
Give. Thank you to those who donated food and to those who volunteered throughout the week of Summer Lunch Club to cook, serve, transport and clean up. We prepared 1000 hot meals, served 865 meals to neighborhood families and shared the rest with Hardy Center campers and Sunday Community Lunch. God’s love shines through your generosity.

Peace Unplugged will begin Sunday, June 15th during our 10:30am contemporary service. This acoustic service will feature a lovely indoor/outdoor experience utilizing the garage door in the ConneXions Center. Piano, Drums, Guitar, Fiddle, and Vocals will accompany, allowing congregants to either set up on the grass with blankets and chairs, or sit in ConneXions with a view of the beautiful Memorial Garden.
This hybrid service provides the best of both worlds, so join us as we worship in God's creation, or with a lovely view of it.

Pastor's Bible Study
June 2nd, 9th, & 23rd | 6:30pm
"When, in the summer of 1955, Lutheran Church officials sent a young white West Virginian to Montgomery, Alabama, to pastor an all-black congregation, they could not have foreseen that six months later he and his family would be thrust into a second American Revolution." (from the book jacket of A White Preacher's Message on Race and Reconciliation. by Roberts Graetz, Jr.).
The late Bob Graetz, who spent most of his pastoral ministry in Ohio, was a leader in the Civil Rights movement, beginning with a personal friendship with Dr.. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Montgomery, living through his own home being bombed twice and then offered himself in a life-long career of advocating for the marginalized. Join Tim Kuenzli in a three week discussion of Bob's book, and perhaps help prepare for a week-long odyssey in a "Civil Rights Immersion" with other Peace members in July of 2026.

Pride 2025
Peace will once again join with the ELCA to walk in this year's Pride March. The first Pride march in Columbus, Ohio was held in June 1981. Only 200 people were in attendance, and some even wore bags over their heads to conceal their identities. Last year, we were joined by over 22,000 marchers, representing a vast array of non-profits, churches, activists, community organizations, corporate sponsors, small businesses, and political candidates!
Peace Lutheran church is also partnering with the city of Gahanna for Gahanna Pride on Thursday, June 26th. Our goal to help sponsor the Gahanna event, and show our love as an affirming church in the community. You can donate below.
