Mission and Vision

Our Vision for Peace Lutheran Church

OUR PURPOSE:

To love God, Neighbor and Self
CORE VALUES:
LOVE not Fear
GRACE not Guilt
RELATIONSHIP over Rules
SERVICE without Condition
VISION FOR THE FUTURE:
Peace will be known as a community of people who explore together what it means to be followers of Christ as individuals, families and the church in today’s world.

We will be a destination in our community for members and non-members alike, and a sought-after partner because of our successful collaboration with other organizations to bring this world closer to the image that Jesus portrays.

Most importantly, every individual who enters our doors or is touched by our ministries will feel loved, supported and connected to others in meaningful relationships.
VISION: DESCRIPTION
Peace will be known as a community of people who explore together what it means to be followers of Christ as individuals, families and the church in today’s world. We will be a destination in our community for members and non-members alike, and a sought-after partner because of our successful collaboration with other organizations to bring this world closer to the image that Jesus portrays. Most importantly, every individual who enters our doors or is touched by our ministries will feel loved, supported and connected to others in meaningful relationships.

Our missional life together will look like this:
  • We will meet people where they are and build meaningful connections. We will be a judgment free zone where love of God, each other, our neighbors and ourselves is the cornerstone of all we do. We will provide a welcoming and safe place for our members to struggle with the tough issues of faith, support each other in life’s challenges and celebrate life’s joys. Our vision is for every member of Peace to feel connected to others in meaningful relationships. This vision is for all who are part of the Peace community, regardless of age, race, faith, gender, ability, sexual-orientation, socio-economic status or any of the other million ways we get categorized every day.

  • We will focus on whole family ministry. This means great children and teen ministries, but also providing many opportunities for families to serve and learn together. We will find ways to support parents, grandparents, caretakers and families of all kinds through the many stages of their life-long journey. We will become a destination for families, kids and teens in the Gahanna community.

  • We will partner in mission with both local and global organizations to engage the underserved. Jesus said, “What you do for the least of these you do for me” (Matthew 25:34-40). Our successful collaborations will move the world closer to the image that Jesus portrays, with all parties changed for the better when engaged in meaningful work together.

  • We will offer vibrant, beautiful worship as a community. Worship services are an opportunity to build community by praising God together. For many, it is a chance to “recharge” each week, reflect on their faith, or be challenged to take a new action. However worship inspires each individual, we want to make sure every service is well crafted to optimize the experience, and reflects our mission, vision and core values. We will continue to prioritize our music ministry as an important part of each worship experience.

  • We will be good stewards of our resources. We will be transparent about all aspects of congregational finances. In response, our community will give generously of time, talent and financial resources.
