WHAT IS AN OMG? Outreach Ministry Grants provide financial support for outreach initiatives brewing in the spirit of the church. Apply for an OMG to help put your idea or ministry into action.
ELIGIBILITY
• Applicants are to be actively involved at Peace Lutheran Church or connected to Peace-affiliated ministries
• All approved applicants will be asked to share a brief introduction of their activity to the congregation at a Sunday service
• For ministries that have already received an OMG, a follow up application will be considered after one years’ time if there is a new aspect or component to the ministry. OMG’s are not to be used for sustaining an existing ministry.
RESTRICTIONS
• Grant funds cannot be used for personnel (to hire people) or travel expenses
• Outreach activity must include more than one person - five or more Peace members or affiliates would be preferred
• Outreach should be to launch a new initiative versus additional funding of an existing project
• Outreach activity must be geared towards the care of those most at risk in our society or advance our care for God’s creation
• After approval, projects should submit invoices to the OMG committee to verify actual spending of the grant
OMG will consider all applications that align with our funding priorities:
• In addition to submitting a written application request, the applicant should be willing to consider a live meeting with the funding team to share their passion for the idea and specify the need for the desired funding
• Funding may be up to $5000
• Funding is not limited to but may be used for such things as initial startup (seed money), marketing, facilitating a meeting or event, etc.
• The selection committee reserves the right to adjust the amount awarded to applicants. Award letters will be distributed once applications are approved that will indicate the dollar amount granted
• We encourage documentation of your project through pictures and video to be submitted
