The mission of Helping Hands is to be the caring hands of Jesus to provide medical care, counseling, social services and health education to those in need. Located at Epworth United Methodist Church, the clinic provides free health services every Thursday evening (excluding holidays). Many of our neighbors who have lost jobs and income in the recent economy have given up hope about getting health care and medications, since they can afford neither. Helping Hands fills that need with the help of volunteer physicians, donated medical equipment and financial assistance along with permanent location to house the clinic. Your helping hands are needed to provide and even expand these services. Peace invests in this partnership by providing monthly volunteers to assist with set-up and registration. Peace also sends monthly financial help and represents Peace on its Board of Directors. Helping Hands presently serves more than 2,000 medical patients and 200 mental health patients yearly.
