Weddings
Whether you are planning a wedding that is small and intimate or large and formal, we consider it important that you give serious attention to its sacred, spiritual aspects. Peace considers a Christian wedding to be the commitment of two people, regardless of gender or orientation, to lifelong faithfulness to each other, rooted in the love that Christ has for us. As you make your wedding plans, remember that weddings at Peace are services of worship. Please keep this in mind as you plan the service itself, the music, the flowers, the apparel, and all other aspects of the day.
Peace is a large congregation with a dedicated pastoral staff serving its members in a multitude of ways. Therefore, weddings at Peace are limited to: 1. Couples who are members of the congregation when reserving the wedding date 2. Couples who are in the process of becoming members when reserving the wedding date 3. Couples who are non-members, but have a family member who is an active member of the congregation and will sponsor the couple. This means that the family member recommends the couple to the pastors, is present at the church during the wedding and reception (if the reception is to be held at Peace), and assumes responsibility for the condition of the church during that time period. If you are interested in getting married at Peace, please contact our wedding coordinator Sara Bennett as far in advance as possible to set the date for you (a deposit is required). Once your date has been reserved, our wedding coordinator will work with you through the planning process- except for pastoral counseling, they will be your exclusive contact to guide you through the planning process. |
