Haitian Timoun Foundation (HTF)
The people of Haiti live in a cycle of extreme poverty. They are caught up in a never ending struggle for survival where they fear for their lives with little opportunity to better their situation. The Haitian Timoun Foundation (HTF) is working hard to help Haitians break out of this cycle. HTF invests in indigenous leaders and empowers Haitians to lead the change they deserve.
In partnership with HTF the Peace community hopes to make a difference. Peace's partnership began with an initial immersion trip in February 2016. An immersion trip brings us in relationship with the people HTF supports. No one can walk away from the experience of visiting partners in Haiti unchanged. The people of Haiti are resilient, hopeful and gracious in the face of incredible obstacles. Beginning in 2020 we have been unable to visit because of travel restrictions. But the need persists. By donating, you support education, leadership and emergency funding.

Peace supports these HTF initiatives:
Chemen Lavi Mio (CLM) - A "Pathway to a Better Life", helps Haiti's poorest women become self-sufficient over the course of 18 months by providing materials to contract a home, a latrine, a water filter, income generating assets and healthcare.
Haitian Education and Leadership Program (HELP) - HELP awards university scholarships to the brightest Haitian students who without financial assistance would never be able to further their education. Upon graduation students are committed to investing their time and resources back into Haiti. 80% of the students remain in Haiti compared to 16% overall.
Programs to educate and care for children are a primary focus for HTF. From providing tuition-free education to children who otherwise could not afford schooling, to the care and education of children with special needs, to the precious opportunities offered to children still trapped in the system of childhood slavery.
Wings of Hope is a beautiful home for the physically and mentally challenged with living spaces, classrooms, physical and occupational therapy areas, recreation areas, and beautiful gardens. It is home to more than 30 residents. The full-time staff provide a caring and loving environment for the residents to live and thrive. In addition to education, meals, and medical care, opportunities for creativity such as art, music, photography, and dance are provided. Residents learn of possibilities, not disabilities.
Peace supports HTF through our annual budget. Other opportunities to support this ministry include donations during special events, child sponsorships and travel when feasible.
