Couples Bible Study
Next Gathering: Sunday, April 14th starting at 12:15pm
We are so excited to offer this special Bible study that couples can attend together, that also has childcare for those with younger kids. This was requested by several members through our small group survey. If you can't attend but would like to stay on our group communications of upcoming event, please email Tony Katko (tkakto@peacegahanna.org).
We hope this opportunity will build some relationships, find support with people going through similar life journeys, and grow in our faith as we study together. *If you need childcare, please let us know the number and ages of kids so that we can plan accordingly.

NEW Study starting on Monday, March 11th | 9:30am - 11:30am or 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Hebrews: The Nearness of King Jesus by Lisa Harper
About the study: Hebrews was a sermon for a specific people and culture in the midst of martyrdom and persecution. It is also so relevant for us today, reminding us to continue walking toward Jesus regardless of our culture or our circumstances. Join Lisa Harper in this 7-session study as she journeys through this bridge between the Old and New Testaments to get to the heart of the matter: Jesus is our accessible King. He is not a faraway God, but an up-close Redeemer who draws near to us. Hebrews helps women make the connection between God the Father and God the Son and reminds us that Jesus is supreme, but He is also compassionate, empathetic, and loving to no end.
Please contact Lori Nelson (lnelsonx32@gmail.com) for more information.

Peace Book Club
2nd & 4th Thursday of the month
Peace Book Club is beginning a new book for the New Year! Please join us on January 11 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom as we read and discuss the difficult subject of the American privatization of the prison system as presented in "American Prison: A Reporter's Undercover Journey into the Business of Punishment," by Shane Bauer.
In 2014, Shane Bauer was hired for $9 an hour to work as an entry-level prison guard at a private prison in Winnfield, Louisiana. An award-winning investigative journalist, he used his real name; there was no meaningful background check. Four months later, his employment came to an abrupt end. But he had seen enough, and in short order he wrote an exposé about his experiences that won a National Magazine Award and became the most-read feature in the history of the magazine Mother Jones. Still, there was much more that he needed to say. In American Prison, Bauer weaves a much deeper reckoning with his experiences together with a thoroughly researched history of for-profit prisons in America from their origins in the decades before the Civil War.
Peace Book Club meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month via Zoom. Please contact Lynn Cory at peacebookclubgahanna@gmail.com for more information or to register to participate.
